What it is: A division of Arizona'a Children Association that provides primary prevention programs in Pima, Graham and Greenlee counties. The mission of The Parent Connecton is to provide information, education and support to parents so that they may feel more confident and competent in their parenting skills.
Who it serves: Any parent who wants to be the best parent they can be! Programs target parents of children ages birth to five. Special programs are available for new parents, Spanish-speaking families, dad's and older parents.
How it works: Play-based learning groups, parenting classes and support groups, home visits and other outreach programs enhance the parent's understanding of their child's development, foster positive attachment, reduce the parent's feelings of frustration and isolation, and teach skills for effective parenting, disciplining, and stress reduction.
What it does: By supporting families during these critical early years before problems ever begin in the home, The Parent Connection is able to enhance child developemnt and prevent the devastating problem of child abuse that affects so many aspects of our community. |
